Melody (Yiqiu) Cao is an Audiology Australia accredited clinical audiologist and an accredited rehabilitation counsellor, with a Master of Rehabilitation Counselling and a Master of Clinical Audiology.
She specialises in central auditory processing disorder (APD) assessment and targeted therapy for children and adults. Trilingual in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, she runs a mobile service across Sydney, especially helpful for children with ADHD, autism and other learning needs. Her counselling training strengthens outcomes by building a strong therapeutic alliance and delivering person centred care.
Melody’s husband experienced sudden unilateral hearing loss in 2016 and later received a cochlear implant with auditory training, giving her lived insight into listening fatigue, communication strain and the family impact of hearing difficulties, and underscoring the importance of early assessment, timely rehabilitation and ongoing support.
